Tales of true-life peril! This was written after an emergency hospital visit with my then-toddler daughter. She was scared, but came through like a champ. I white-knuckled through the procedure, and then nearly passed out. So much for the pillar of strength.

lurching from the
gurney to the floor

clear the aisle i'm flapping wildly
